Why do complete strangers have the ability to make you question your life? Facebook isn’t the Mirror from Sleeping Beauty…or is it?
Last Thursday, I was avoiding work at 9pm by Facebook creeping on strangers’ profiles. What? You’ve never done that?! Whatever, Liar.
While I was looking at pics of some random person who had commented on a friend’s page, I caught myself thinking “I wish I was that happy and had that many friends. I wish I had fun like that girl.”
Then something smacked in the face. I AM that happy. I DO have that many friends. I just don’t see them very often so it isn’t documented like this complete stranger who had stirred up these bummer feelings. But when we’re in the same location, we take cheesy selfies (I hate that term), and we laugh and talk and catch up and hug and take more pics together to remember the rare occasions where we get to grace each other with our presences and share the chosen-familial love that we’ll have forever. The occasional girls’ nights that include staying in, watching chick flicks, drinking wine, and having some amazing food, or those that get us out of the house to see our favorite band and tons of other friends.
Then I smiled and stole these pics from my friends on Facebook to have some of these special moments in one place. Friends? Sorry, not sorry. You’re now on my blog. Love you! And for those with whom I do NOT have these ridiculous pics, we need to remedy this. ASAP!
